Students of the Month, Whitewater Students. Gerri: The OSPD is hosting the New England Association of Chiefs of Police 82nd Annual Conference Sunday, Septmber 9th - Wednesday, Septemer 12th. The Conference is being held at Saybrook Point....the ENTIRE Saybrook Point.
We were offerred by Chief Mosca and Lt. Spera the facility of the new State of Conecticut Mobile Field Hospital that is being set up at the Point as I write this email. (stop down at the Point to take a look). I am told by Lt. Spera that this Hospital cost the State millions of dollars, is quite a large structure, and is the only one of its kind in the Northeast. We can hold our meeting inside of this structure. We can still have our Program of the Whitewater Students and in addition, Lt. Spera, who is the Director of Emergency Managment in Old Saybrook, will also speak on Homeland Security. There will be a few tables but plenty of chairs.

Membership Seminar
Linda Bouvier , District Membership Chair and DG Colin Gershon have planned a really great Membership Seminar on Wednesday, September 23. Presenters scheduled to appear include Linda Bouvier , DG 2010-2011 Julianne Reppenhagen, PDG Mac Leask and more. The workshop will focus on the importance of membership, relevance of Rotary, retention, recruitment, public image and extension. Every club should send a few representatives, hopefully your membership chair, current and prospective officers and anyone else who may take a further leadership role in YOUR club. This is a workshop, so the more the merrier. Audience participation is encouraged. Share your own club’s success stories and learn what others are doing—what works and what doesn’t. Coffee and cookies will be provided. Feel free to bring some munchies to share, Thanks.
