Judge Fisher began his career as a wholesale meat distributor, sold the business after eight years, went to law school, practiced law, and then was appointed a judge. Presently works in the Meriden Court district.

Judges serve eight year terms and then can be reappointed in eight year appointments. We have 196 judges in Connecticut, 7 Supreme Court judges, 9 Appellate Court judges and the remainder in the various courts around the state.

In 2008 the court system handled just over a million cases. This with 196 judges..Foreclosures were running 40-50 per day now done to 4 - 5 per day. Our mediation program is working very well. To improve the efficiency of the system the court is beginning to use a computer appearance system, saving time & money transporting offenders
to and from court.

Reminder:    Installation Dinner June 17 at The Pavilion 6:00 P M details to follow.
