The RYLA weekend took place at Camp Hazen and there were 60 attendees. Sophie Warlitz gave a presentation and talked about her experience. She was made to feel welcomed immediately, people were easy to talk to. The attendees did activities that tested their limits like the high swing and climbing tower - daunting, you had to overcome your fear. There was a culture walk and mask ceremony. There were community building exercises with obstacles in place that had to be overcome. One was the city building project in which there were 3 groups formed. One group had unlimited resources to work with, another moderate resources and another very limited resources. It was a way to show how difficult it can be to get things accomplished in the real world with and without funds to make them happen.
Keysi Jara, a RYLA alumnus, also attended as a facilitator. She said you learn to step out of your comfort zone and that  attending RYLA changes your life. Next year she will be a student director.
