Gerri read 2 letters of appreciation: 1 from Fire Marshall John Dobson for our support of their child coloring book program and one from District for our contribution to Polio Plus.

Amber: Amber reported the Annual Turkey Drive was a great success. We raised over $2,000.00 with Liberty Bank’s matching funds.

Amber is looking for 5 or 6 volunteers for the Annual Jingle Bell Run, Saturday. She needs adults to cheer the runners on. Begins at 9:15. If interested, see Amber for details.

Marty: The Annual Torchlight parade is Saturday, December 10th. Volunteers are needed to collect baked goods from local businesses and to help under the tent serving Hot Chocolate and baked goods. You will need to arrive at 5pm, please see Marty for details and to sign-up.

Marty distributed Wine Tasting Event tickets. Each member was given 6 tickets to sell. Next week’s meeting, December 6th will be dedicated to the event.

Program: Amber Scherber and the RYLA attendees

Some of the words the students used to describe the RYLA conference was Life Changing, Amazing, Unforgetable, Great and much more. The fall RYLA program took place Friday Oct 28 - Sunday Oct. 30.

RYLA Candidate Criteria

1. Demonstrated leadership in school or community organizations.
2. Ability to make moral decisions; knowing right from wrong.
3. Willing to be a participating member of a group.
4. Be informed about current events; local, state, national and international.
5. Willingness to express one’s thoughts in front of an audience.

75 students including 5 that were sponsored by our club. There were many activities  that promoted team bonding, self reflection, physical and mental activities, trust activities and leadership activities. There was a talent show to get the kids to break out of their shell. They had to talk about themselves in front of a group of people they didn't know revealing personal information. You had to "unmask" yourself. The students spoke highly of the experience and made lifelong friends. For more information visit:
