PROGRAM
Bikes for Kids, Dave Fowler spoke to The Club about the activities of “Bikes for Kids” this year they have distributed nearly 1,400 bikes to youngsters and oldsters since inception just under 21,000 bikes have been given away. After hurricane Sandy, they sent 300 bikes to Long Island. 300 bikes were sent to Tanzania to help the needy improve their lives. “Bikes for Kids” is working on getting 300 bikes ready to send to Houston to help where needed. Dave told The Club that they will need $2,000.00 to ship the bikes to Houston. Brent said the Rotary Club of Old Saybrook Foundation will discuss financial help for this effort. The Club will consider coordinating our relief efforts with Bikes for Kids. Dave reminded The Club of the Charity Bike Ride Sunday October 2, 2017 to benefit, a ride for all ages, 3-mile 10 mile, 27 miles and 55 miles. Come one and come all to enjoy this day.
