Happy Bucks (proceeds go to the Liberty Bank Thanksgiving Fund): The gorgeous sunrise, optimism over the new leadership starting with Sam, the excellent World Series that just concluded, moving forward and continuing to work with great people.

Pres-Elect Sam Fulginiti will be taking over as our club president. Going forward as a club was a topic for discussion. We need to reflect and regroup. We have a fine group of people and can continue our good work as we come together and move forward.

Program:
Tari Marshall-Day, RI Foundation giving

Tari gave a presentation of the Rotary International Foundation. She is from New Zealand and has been working with RI for a number of years. She has seen first hand in many countries the good Rotary does around the world. She gave Sam a reference guide on everything you need to know about giving.

RI has been looking for corporate sponsors and those sponsors need to see goals. Its important that individual clubs set realistic goals as to what they can pledge and submit it to RI. Rotary has enormous purchasing power which is evidenced by the near eradication of Polio. Polio Plus is still ongoing. Even if the disease is totally eradicated, vaccine must be administered for an additional 4 years to insure eradication.

Tari suggested the club do a fundraiser just for the donation to RI. Many clubs do this. You can also give any amount individually. If you specify "District Managed Grants" the money donated comes back in 3 years for any qualifying project. Rotary gets income for 2 years that they have the money. St. Johns, St. Croix and Puerto Rico are considered international partners for potential projects.
