Nationwide, The Rotary dictionary project has donated 30 million dictionaries to elementary students. Under the leadership of Charlie Norz, O.S. Rotary has distributed 4,512 dictionaries to students in Westbrook, Old Saybrook, and Lyme/Old Lyme.

Meals on Wheels: Brent Taylor and Charlie Renshaw.

Program: Business Meeting
Marty updated the progress on the Wine Tasting Event to be held on 2/9/18 at the Saybrook Point Inn. Members are encouraged to sell tickets, find sponsors, and get donations from businesses and merchants in town. A work sign up sheet will be circulated at the next meeting.

Pat Settembrino distributed Rotary Calendars to be given to prospective new members, event sponsors and donors, and local businesses. These calendars will help to keep Rotary in the public’s eye.

In order to attract new members, it was suggested that the first meeting of every month be a luncheon meeting. After a period of discussion, the club voted (almost unanimously) to have one meeting a month at lunchtime. Sam will check with Saybrook Point Inn to see if they are able to accommodate our new schedule. If not, we will look at alternative sites for lunch.

Sam and Pat will be meeting with the Park and Rec Department to determine our role in developing the new park on Main Street.
