PROGRAM

SAC David C. Sundberg gave us an overview of the purpose and responsibility of the F B I. The FB I is an investigative organization, it is not a law enforcement agency.

Mr. Sundberg commented on the news about Portland, OR. The city has a history of opposing views and attracting extreme views. He said this also applies to Richmond, VA.

A few points:

1.    Polarization on all sides, we must protect the right to assemble in a safe manner for all.

2.    Public discussion a challenge during this pandemic

3.    Politics needs to be protected. Elections must be protected so everything is on the up and up. He reported there is no evidence of systemic voter fraud.

The F B I in Connecticut works closely with the local police departments.

1.    Crimes against children, the internet on line activity can be very harmful, without school children abuse is not reported, ala teachers, counselors, doctors, nurses, etc.

2.    Gang and drug related crimes

3.    White collar crime, PPP fraudulent loan claims, medical and insurance fraud.

David, when asked, gave a good over view of the F B I as an arm of the Department of Justice.

The take away is that many capable people are doing their job well
