THE FOUR-WAY TEST
of the things we think, say or do
First...
    Is it the TRUTH ?
Second....
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Third....
Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Fourth....
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Fundraising:
Macaroni Dinner Update, John Aforismo
John was happy to start his report by saying we had 85% club participation - great turnout! John is sending out thank you notes to our sponsors and those who supported our fundraiser. We cleared $3,735 with 273 meals delivered. John will provide a full financial report later. PICTURE ALBUM

Charlie Renshaw has been working on the golf tournament, speaking to the folks at Fox Hopyard. We have many  questions (options) to consider. Among others, should we have it on a Thursday or Friday (more expensive), have breakfast, lunch, dinner or a combination of those, should we include a silent auction component? Pete suggested having a separate admission for the auction. We need 72 golfers to close the course. The club must decide these and other questions. We will discuss at the next meeting so try to log in to the meeting.

We have decided to postpone our Wine Tasting & Silent Auction at Saybrook Point Inn slated for Feb. 5 due to the pandemic and safety concerns. We will look at having it later in the year, possible Oct-Nov time frame with a casual Halloween theme. Marty will be talking to SPI GM John Lombardo about rescheduling. Dr. Allan thinks things should be fine by this time next year.

Remember the Turkey Drive - Thanksgiving coming soon. Happy bucks go the fund with Liberty Bank matching 25 cents for every dollar the club contributes.

If anyone needs Rotary clothing and accessories, let Gary know. The "oldtimers" in the club may have shirts, hats, etc. but some of the newer members may not. Russell Hampton Co. is a primary supplier of Rotary gear. Let Gary know if you are in need of anything.

Charlie Norz spoke about the Foundation. It's in good shape although the market has had its ups and downs lately.

Charle then spoke about the Dictionary Project which is happening now. Because of the pandemic, we are not allowed to enter the schools to delivery them so they are being dropped off. Charlie is taking care of this, about 200 dictionaries for area schools 3rd graders were ordered, prepared and ready to go. Charlie hasn't heard from Daisy Ingraham School yet and if they would like dicitonaries they can be ordered.

Pete Zucco reported on membership. He is doing a mailing today which talks about the macaroni dinner and more. Please send Pete names of potential members including their mailing addresses.

Bill McLaughlin said that Old Saybrook First Selectman Carl Fortuna will be our guest at our Nov. 11 meeting on ZOOM. The 18th is open for programs.

Next week is a business meeting on ZOOM. We'll be discussing fundraising - ideas welcome!
