PRESIDENT’S UPDATE
1.) Jack Solomon has 2,000 PPE masks and 1,650 Adult Mask for distribution. Pres. Gary proposed we divvy the 2,000 PPE’s OS 700 West 650 LOL 650, and to the schools, OS, West, LOL, 550 ea., adult masks. Done.
2.) Pres. Gary attended the P E T S program, via zoom, good meetings.
3.) New Asst. Governor Tari Laima Nori on board 07/01/21.
4.) Amber Scherber reports the Interact Club operating, although attendance is down, Interact Club working on a poster for the OSHS hallways promoting Rotary and Interact. Our support of Interact is vital.
5.) The Saybrook Chamber of Commerce reports that, The Middlesex County Community Foundation, is offering a “Pop Up Grant” program. The third Friday of each month a “Non-Profit” name will be drawn. FUND RAISING
1.) Golf Tourney scheduled for the fall 2021. John Jackson suggested Thursday August 19, 2021. Charlie R will look into additional date possibilities and will visit with OS Chamber re: info on formats.
2.) Wine Tasting event scheduled for Friday February 18, 2022. Contract from SPI inn hand. 450 attendees, cost $18.50 per person, consider raising price from $40.00 to $50.00 per person. Plan Ahead.
3.) Plan “Shredding Day” for Saturday April 24, 2021. Shredding Source charges $750.00 for the day, looking at $5.00 per box to shred. More to come.
4.) Mac Dinner Fireman’s Field is available for Sunday October 17, 2021 Good fund raiser, $3,800 net last year, Good food, Good Fund raiser, Good Rotary Publicity!!
5.) Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce Art and Craft Show for 2021 is up in the air. If held we are in.

Marty D and President Gary McC have had additional discussions with Web Solutions regarding updating our web site. Also, Marty’s daughter is in the web design business and is lending a hand. The Foundation has funds to finance this work

5.) COMMUNITY SERVICE Pat S discussed working on a bench program. Funding the cost of benches around town, properly placed to accommodate walkers, etc. Cost $1,600 pe bench. Discussion on going.
