Ed Morin, VP New England/New York Div. AECOM Rocky Hill, CT, spoke to “The Club” about the extensive archeological work being done before construction, of any kind, involving State and/or Federal funds gets under way.

Ed has 40 years of experience in the archaeological field, a BA History, Westfield State, MA American Studies St. Louis Univ, and a MA Archaeology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Presently Ed is working in the Philadelphia, PA area. The project is rerouting I-95 thru the city. The work involves a close association with Penn DOT.

The work has 3 phases:

1.) Phase 1-A determine what is and what is not on the site

2.) Phase 1-B test the site, review old maps and photo’s

3.) Excavate and catalog findings.

4.) The work invites public participation.

5.) The collects a trove of artifacts describing life in the early days of the work area.
