Program: Interact Club
We were treated to a program that is near and dear to our hearts. The Old Saybrook Rotary Club helped with the establishment of the Interact Club and we are pleased at the spirit of service club members as shown by the following projects:
    - Raised $700 to cover costs of sending packages to our troops in Afghanistan
    - Ran the soup kitchen at the Old Lyme Congregational Church. Club members prepared and served over 100 meals.
    - Sold flowers during intermission at high school plays. Proceeds went to the Soup Kitchen and other projects.
    - Hygiene for Haiti Project: collected soap used and new which were melted down to liquid soap and sent to poverty stricken areas of Haiti to help stop the spread of disease.
    - No Dishes for a Week: Club collected gift cards from local restaurants and held a raffle. Winner was treated to 7 dinners.
    - Penguin Plunge: Each participant raised $75. Proceeds went to Special Olympics
    - Phoenic Project: Planned for the fall, clothing collected is given to people who have lost homes and belongings in fire.
    - Shed for local cementary: The club is providing a 6' x 8' shed plus tools for a local cementary (near train station). Dedication is May 26 at 10am.
