Program: Josh Scherber
Josh is a senior at Old Saybrook High School and for his senior project took on the task of restoring an old cemetary located near the train station. The cemetary has fallen into disprepair and needed some TLC. Josh engaged friends, Mr. Tiezzi and family members to not only clean up overgrowth, he fixed and repainted signs and arranged to have a shed built, installed and stocked with tools thanks to a grant from the Lions Club. The shed was built by the Interact Club whose advisor is Amber Scherber, Josh's mom. The cemetary is the final resting place for many veterens of war going back to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, War of 1812 and more. Josh learned a lot about the towns history and with his excellent power point presentation, educated us as well. Ancesters of some locally well known names are buried there including Ingham, Acton, and Dibble. A dedication ceremony was held honoring veterans and about 25 people attended. Josh is a grandson of a Vietnam veteran and his great grandfather was a veteran of the Korean War.

We had a little time left so Keith talked about his business and some new technology he is involved in - 3D pictures and 3D printing. He uses vendors globally and has good results with Shapeways which is part of Ebay to get marketing and promotional materials made.
