Well, kids what do you know, not one complaint about breakfast this morning..how lovely...BTW, biscuits and gravy is out of the question...do you think this is a restaurant or something?!! *&lt:-P party  The menu was scrumptous...scrambled eggs; bacon; sausage; fried potatoes; french toast; bagels; toast; fruit; juice; etc. thank you Stu and Kelly.*=D> applause We loved it!

Another great meeting today....Charlie Norz introduced our guests Richard & Rachael Higgins and Faythe Papp who thanked us for our donation to Dictionaries for Haiti and presented us with visuals of the school, kids, teacher and they brought the sample dictionaries in as well.  Interesting to learn that these kids can teach themselves English.  ...and good to know that every dollar donated goes directly to the project...no middle man to get a cut!

John D. gave us an update on our Ghana grant. Thanks, John. Great job! John & Bill Mc. will be gathering books from the book sale at Acton Library in Old Saybrook on Saturday, July 20th (this Saturday) around 2:00 and they could use some help if you want to take a ride over there on Saturday at 2:00 or so.*?@_@? studying Thanks!

All of our flags were finally hung around the room today thanks to Glen who put together hangars for the flags made out of coat hangars!  How kind of you to do that. Thanks, Glen.. it felt like ROTARY!!! *~^o^~ cheer

HEY HEY...another prospective member! Eric Reisner was at our meeting again this morning.  He is the operations manager at Lyman Real Estate.

It was great hearing from our old Rotarian friends that have moved away. We're missing you too, folks.  HOPE YOU ALL ARE WELL AND HAPPY! I'll keep you in the loop as requested....maybe you can join us for our evening dinner??

So, you voted to have an evening dinner meeting on July 31st (5th Wednesday). We won't be doing breakfast that morning.  However, if anyone is available to hold a round table in the a.m. for about a half hour, kindly let me know.
We can sit and have coffee and try not to fall asleep.
*I-) sleepy

We have 3 great restaurant choices; in Old Saybrook, Otter Cove; in Westbrook, Water's Edge & in Old Lyme, The Old Lyme Inn. I will send out the menus under separate cover and we can vote next week.
...and speaking of next week, (6 extra people for breakfast, Stu) our program is the "white water" students and their proud parents.  They are going to talk to us about "life lessons" learned, interesting people they met and the marvelous experiences they had.  IT IS BECAUSE OF THE GENEROSITY & SUPPORT OF YOU, THE CLUB, that they were able to attend, so THANK YOU!*=D> applause

Don't forget to ask Bob Antoniac how you can help with the Arts & Crafts Show food booth.  I hear our Star Worker GiGi will be with us at our food booth. She's bright and beautiful and will make you smile.  It's hard to believe she's your daughter, Sam...just kidding*:-* kiss  The Knights will be there and the Lions Club will be doing "Taco in a Bag"......I've tried it and it's really gooood *:D big grin Maybe we can trade one of our fabulous hot dogs...of course THEY would be getting the better deal...!!!.hmmmm Also, TEAM AVERY will be there selling ice cream.

Hey, who did we miss today...Donna, Sam, Heather, Kirby, Jason is making up in New Haven; who else???

Heather and Kirby need to know that we're missing them, so if you feel like making a call (everyone, anyone)....or sending an email.....
