Happy Bucks: For the World Affairs Students, visting guest Maurice who put his boat up for sale, beautiful day, Past president Gerri's first non-presidential meeting, canadian vaction in the woods, the lobster & steak dinner at First Congregational Church, happy the Old Saybrook Preserve passed budget and happy to be a regular member of the OS Rotary.

Bob Antoniac: Sign up sheet going around for the food booth which we are hosting at the Arts & Crafts Show this weekend. Volunteers to set up Friday night are needed. All other slots look good.

Program: World Affairs Seminar Glen Anderson
The World Affairs Seminar is a popular Rotary program and attracts high school seniors from around the world. The Rotary Old Saybrook sponsors 3 seniors to attend the World Affairs Seminar. This year, it was held at Carroll University in Wisconsin. The seminar provides many insights to these students and gives them an opportunity to listen to peers from around the globe. International understanding is what this program is all about and the students came away with knowledge that will stay with them all their lives.

The three recipients were Kiran Kosla of Old Saybrook, Rachel Gosselin of Westbrook and Hannah  Paynter of Old Lyme.

Kiarn Kosla:
Kiarn participates in indoor and outdoor track and soccer. She is a member and the founder of the Science Club at Old Saybrook High and is also a member of the Interact club, Student council, National Honor Society, Goodwin buddies and the Ecology Club. She is interning at Yale and lives with her Dad, Rajiv, mon, Kavita and brother, Suraj.

Rachel Gosselin:
Rachel aprticpates in theatre, High Scool bowl, JV/V Math team, Newspaper club ( Literacy magazine), SADD, Model UN. She is a member of Music ensembles in school and on the Shoreline. She lives with her Dad, Ray, Mom, Kelli and her siblings who are triplets, Dylan, Ryan and Joan.

Hannah Paynter:
Hannah plays soccer, basketball, and rows Roger Lake in Old Lyme. She is a member of many clubs to include, Student leaders, yearbook club, enviromental club, and the Young Educator's club. She lives at home with her Dad, Michael, Mom, Cameron and her brother Dylan and sister's Emma and Margot. Her Godmother Chreun also lives with Hannah.

All three students learned alot, developed relatiosnhips with others from all over the world and came away with " Be a lifelong learner, be impactful, hold intentions lightly, Why not?"
