Old Saybrook's recipient, Heather Kuang is from China and has been here since her junior year. She has quickly acclimated and accepted any and all challenges sent her way insisting on taking advanced calculus instead of the introductory course. She is a member of the math team and dance team. She is very patient and has shown an ability to persevere. She was a member of the math team that went to Penn State to compete and did very well.

Jared DiCarlo of Westbrook, is a self learner and self starter who makes things better. He developed the handbook used by his robotics team. Jared thinks outside the box and challenges his teachers. He is an assuming individual who stays out of the limelight yet contributes much. He was the high scorer on his math team.
