ROTARY STUFF

Good morning. We had a great meeting on Wednesday with all the students that attended RYLA. Amber's students brought in a slide presentation and we caught a glimpse of Rich Sullivan's daughter, Megan who was a facilitator. Thanks, Glen, for arranging this program. It's always great to have Westbrook, Old Lyme and Old Saybrook students and parents at our meeting and breakfast was great as always.

I hear Stu is back in the kitchen part time .... welcome back, Stu! You can be proud of Kelli and Marilyn; they did a great job for us.

The Rotary/Liberty Bank Turkey Drive is soon coming to an end. Saturday, November 22nd is the last day to make a contribution. Our branch is open until 3:00 p.m. We will be giving gift cards to the 3 towns we support, Old Lyme, Westbrook and Old Saybrook on Monday, November 24th, 3:30 p.m. at the Old Saybrook branch. Please join us if you can and bring your cameras. Amber's Interact students will be joining us as well. Thank you Kathy and Amber for chairing this for us. Thank you all for your happy bucks and to Glen, Jan and Amber for collecting money outside of Rotary for this
worthwhile effort
.

Our next meeting is December 3rd. Please note there will not be a meeting on Wednesday, November 26th, the day before Thanksgiving. December 13th is the Torchlight Parade and Marty will talk about that next time. We will be making and serving hot chocolate and cookies/pastries to the marchers. Brent, Welles, Rick and I will be making the hot chocolate. Please volunteer to help pick up pastries. Thanks.

Our holiday dinner is Wednesday, December 17th at Water's Edge Resort & Spa. I am attaching that information for you as well. Some of you have already signed up, thanks. We are going to have a grab bag as well, so don't forget to bring a gift if you wish to participate.

Our Wine Tasting is February 6th and it's not too early to start getting your auction items. We changed it up a bit this year and we will be doing a program book, so please get out there to get sponsors for us. I'm attaching the information for you.

We've had many Community Outreach requests and I'm happy to say that we've given away approximately $6500 to those in need so far this year. Hooray for Rotary!

Our Warm The Children shoppers are out there shopping at Walmart. Kathy and I are heading up this effort for Rotary and if you want to be a shopper, please contact Dick Campbell at: rpc0647S@sbcglobal.net    .... any questions, kindly let us know.

I went to Old Lyme and accepted a check from William Pitt Sotheby Real Estate for $500 last Tuesday .... very generous
contribution and I even got a couple more shoppers! Thank you for being a shopper .... it's so much fun to see the excited look on the children's faces.

I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels. Take care and be well.
