Presentation to Haddam Killingworth Rotary Club:
This special dinner meeting took place at the Saybrook Point Inn. We heard from Paul Indorf, Asst. District Governor, Past District Governors Rick Bassett and Mukund Nori and current DG Gerry Tom. They spoke about this being a great day for Rotary. Rick Bassett spoke about membership and the importance of growth. New club formation is a great way to increase the profile and reach of Rotary. Ann approached Rick about 5 years ago with idea of starting the club and together they sketched a roadmap. At the kickoff meeting, Paul Indorf became the ADG. The district came thru with some money and a budget was created. The club went from 0 to 20 members immediately and Rick is incredibly proud!
Mukund said that he had to shut down 2 clubs due to low membership so it was with great pleasure he added the HK club literally on his last day as DG.
Kathy Callinan gave some welcoming words of encouragement to the new startup club and ended her remarks by having everyone recite the 4-way test.
Annie Stirna, the President of the HK Rotary Club, accepted the club banner, gavel and bell from Mukund Nori. Following that, Gerri had the members of the Old Saybrook Club pin the members of the HK Club. Annie then said a few words thanking her members for stepping up and joining and committing to this organization called Rotary.
