Happy Bucks: Most were for the OSHS band and director, several were for March Madness, UCONN men’s and women’s basketball teams, Pam M was happy for Gary’s recovery (aren’t we all), CR happy for wife’s birthday – 47

Special Program: March is Music in Our Schools Month. Joan W. arranged for today’s mini concert. Jeremy Taylor, music director of the OSHS Band Program, brought sixteen of his music students to perform for us. These talented musicians played 3 selections featuring a variety of instruments. Songs included: Rainbow Connection from the Muppet Movie, Coo-Coo Quartet, and Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen. Jeremy announced that during the month of May Old Saybrook Schools will be featuring a musical program each week culminating with the Memorial Day Parade. Thank you to all of the students for a wonderful program.

 

Announcements: 

     Wine Tasting Event update: Marty is pleased with the sponsor sign up. It is at $18,500 already with more to come in. This year’s total surpasses last year. Congratulations! Continue to check the website/emails for updates. Ticket sales are a little slow at this time. Sell more tickets!

     Call to Care Uganda: John A. informed us about an event, Wine to Water, to be held at the Westbrook Elks on April 25th. There will be a “Rotary Corner” providing an opportunity for Clubs to present what they are doing for the Well Projects in Uganda. The goal is 100 wells by 2030 and 83 new wells have already been dug. See John’s email for more information.

     Rotary Day of Service is May 18th at the VFW. More info to follow about our VFW Refresh Project.

     Macaroni Dinner is set for Clark’s Field on October 20th.

    The Annual Shred Day will be held on April 20th from 9:00 to noon. $10.00 a box. All hands on deck.

     Peace Committee: This new committee will be working with the District’s Program to promote peace through the Arts. Sign up with Nancy.

     Next Student of the Month meeting will take place on April 3rd the first Wednesday of the month.

Next Meeting: March 27th at noon at the VFW. Speaker will be John Matschult from the Common Good Garden.
