The produce that is grown is delivered to three Shoreline Kitchens and pantries. The pantries are located in Old Saybrook, Old Lyme and Niantic. More than 1,800 residents pick them up by dozens of volunteers. They are guided by talented gardeners. Many are senior gardeners as well as young gardeners. Twenty-four crops grown last year. Biggest crop is lettuce. They started in 2002 and since have grown to 260 volunteers. John also spoke about new exotic pest species.
