GUEST SPEAKER: Brittany Czajkowski, Vista Life Innovations, quality life manager
Vista is an organization serving adult individuals with disabilities throughout the various stages of life by promoting independence. Vista provides a year round curriculum focusing on life skills, social and cognitive behavior, vocational support, employment and long term life planning. They offer a residential transitional program which is community based. Vista offers day programs that are art-focused. The Vista community supports nearly 200 students and ongoing services for up to 40 residential students. They have two locations. The Westbrook location includes a dormitory, educational center and student training condos. The Madison location houses the administration, cultural and community center and a Main Street gift shop. The community may support Vista’s mission through sponsorship, donation or attending this year’s performance of “Footloose” at the Kate from May 17-19, 2024.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
THANK YOU NOTE: Received from “Heal and Thrive” for our $1,000 donation. Four
complimentary tickets of their spring fundraiser were included. The tickers are for Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 4:30 pm at Langley’s Restaurant in Waterford. If you are interested contact Nancy Morin.
SHRED DAY: April, 20th, 9:00 am-Noon, OSHS. Contact John A. with any questions.
ROTARY DAY OF SERVICE: A May date to be determined in coordination with VFW.
GRANT COMMITTEE: Chaired by Cheryl Nadzam
The committee is finalizing the grant application for the Arthur C. Luf Children’s Burn Camp request for equipment needed for children with burns to participate in summer activities at the camp.The grant will go to the District Grant Committee for final approval.
DISTRICT TRAINING:
District training assembly to be held on April 20, 2024 in New Haven. Membership approved funding for 3 members to attend at a cost of $60 each.
OTHER TOPICS:
Membership approved the request of $500 as a Supporting Sponsor of Vista’s production of “Footloose” at the Kate, May 17-19,2024
