Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a wonderful weekend. Here are some reminders and updates.

o    There is NO meeting this week. Enjoy the break.

o     We have now completed the District Memo of Understanding (MOU) and set the Foundation fundraising goal ($ 1500 - same as last year) so we are now DMG qualified. Once Christina and I complete the Primary Contact online training, which needs to be done annually, we will be able to apply for District funding to help our outreach efforts.

o     A small number of our members have yet to pay the $ 170 dues for FY22-23. If you still owe dues, please pay Kathy C. as soon as you can. If you need more time, just speak with Kathy or me.

o    Kathy C. is on vacation this week. If you need a check during this week to pay an imminent bill, let me know as I have the checkbooks in Kathy's absence.

o     I hope to have the ARPA application drafted to present to the group by our next meeting. If successful, we could recoup about $27,000 from the town for the Wine Tasting revenue that was lost by canceling the event last year.

o    We will hopefully conduct an International Project this year. CalltoCare Uganda is a possibility and members wanted to see what other opportunities might be out there before we make a final determination. Trish Pearson, a former District Governor from the Branford Club who is very active with international Rotary projects, has promised me a list of worthy projects that we, possibly along with other Clubs, can consider as well. More to come on that.

o     Kudos to John Giannini and his team for terrific work on the Summer Concert Series. There is one more on-site concert to go for us on August 24th.

o    Bill McLaughlin has done a great job with the schedule of speakers. We have speakers booked until mid-October. If you have ideas for interesting speakers, connect with Bill.

o    Upcoming major activities are the Arts & Crafts Festival on October 1-2; the Golf Tournament on October 3; and the Macaroni Dinner on October 16. It will be busy but exciting fall.

o    Here is the schedule of meetings for August. All will be held at noon at the Knollwood Beach Association Clubhouse. If you have invited potential members or Rotarians from other Clubs to join our meetings, please be sure to let them know about the time and venue.

    August 3            NO MEETING

August 10          Speaker: Mary Lou Gannotti, ADRAG

August 17          District Governor Tari Marshall-Day (It would be great to have robust attendance for Tari's visit)

August 24          Speaker: Amber Scherber on our Interact Club activities

August 31          Speaker: Amanda Brouwer, Acton Library

Take care. Stay safe. See you on the 10th.

Pat
