The Paul Harris Award

ROTARY'S PAUL HARRIS FELLOWS | The Rotary Club of Timaru

The Paul Harris Award is one of the highest expressions of appreciation bestowed by Rotary. Established in 1957 to honor the legacy of Rotary's founder Paul Harris, this recognition is conferred upon individuals whose contributions - whether through service, leadership, or support of the Rotary Foundation - advance Rotary's mission of promoting goodwill, peace, and humanitarian service throughout the world.
Designation as a Paul Harris Fellow reflects a significant commitment of the ideals of "Service Above Self".  Honorees exemplify the values that define Rotary: integrity, compassion, and a dedication to improving the lives of others.
Recognition may be granted in acknowledgement of notable service or through contributions made in the recipient's name to The Rotary Foundation, which supports global initiatives in health, education, clean water, community development, and peacebuilding.
Today more than one million individuals worldwide have been named Paul Harris Fellows, forming a distinguished community united by a shared commitment to humanitarian action. Each recipient is presented with a certificate and pin symbolizing their place within this tradition of service and their enduring impact on both local and global communities.
