Torchlight Parade

Old Saybrook Town Green

Rotary will be hosting the hospitality tent for the marchers and general public. This is our 37th year of hosting!

The following is an editorial from last year's event:

On Saturday Dec. 14, 2024, the annual Torchlight Parade took place – a long-standing tradition in Old Saybrook. For the 36th year, The Old Saybrook Rotary Club hosted the hospitality tent at the end of the parade route on the Town Green. Rotarians make hot chocolate at the Estuary kitchen and transport it to the tent, gather baked goods from area businesses and serve the marchers and attendees who endured the cold conditions to participate in the Parade.

We thank the following businesses for their contributions of baked goods: Dunkin’ Donuts, Cloud 9, Stop & Shop, Big Y, Dagmar’s Desserts, Paperback Café, Mirsina’s Restaurant, Café Toscana, Starbucks, Pursuit of Pastry, Luigi’s Restaurant, Beach Donut Shop, Shayna B’s by the Sea, Cocotte Bakery, Parthenon Diner, Edd’s Place, and Walt’s Market.  We also thank The Estuary for use of their facilities in preparing the hot chocolate. Thanks also to Chris Reid who donates the hot chocolate, cups, napkins and the heated tent itself. Chris has been carrying on this tradition started by his grandfather, Bill Reid who started this many years ago.

The Rotary Club is proud to support this festive event that is uniquely Old Saybrook.
