International Peace Day/Music Across Borders

An Evening with Cellist & Rotary Peace Fellow Diego Carneiro
In recognition of the International Day of Peace on September 21, Rotary District 7980 and it’s Opus For Peace initiative will present a special concert and conversation featuring cellist and Rotary Peace Fellow Diego Carneiro. The evening will combine Diego’s artistry as a cellist with stories from a remarkable life devoted to building connections across cultures. His work has taken him to six continents and nearly 40 countries, giving him a firsthand view of communities facing conflict, displacement, poverty, and profound social change, as well as the people working every day to build a more peaceful world. Through music and conversation, Diego will take the audience on a journey across countries and cultures, sharing experiences from his travels and his work as a Rotary Peace Fellow. The event takes place on Sunday, September 21, 2026, 6:30 pm, at the Acton Public Library in Old Saybrook.
