President Peter read a letter of resignation from Peter Knox. Thanks to Peter Knox for his many years of serviced to the Club.
All of the pins and placques for the Paul Harris award for Ran King arrived and were presented to Ran. Congratulations Ran well deserved.
Program: Education in Ghana with speaker Kwame Ocansey
To begin Kwame told us that his name means that he was born on Saturday, with only 7 names many in Ghana have the same name.
Kwame had a power point presentation showing life in Otosae village, a village about a 3 day trip from the capital.
His viisit was to see the village and school first hand and to match faces of children with names.
Kwame has founded a organization L E E A D International, Inc for the purpose of helping children in Ghana get an education. This entails building schools and providing teaching materials, clothing, etc. $20.00 per month will sponsor a child, whild $1,000.00 will build a school. Go to www. leead.org for more info.
Ghana has gone backwards since the 1976 and today the country, economy, business, and education are all in need of real assistance. In many areas of the county electricity is on 2 days a week
