Nancy Morin spoke about the importance of the President-Elect position and the importance of transitioning the leadership in the club at the end of the fiscal year. There is a lot to know and certainly, attendance at PETS (President Elect Training Seminar) is a must. Nancy is happy to announce that Jan Perruccio has accepted the position of President Elect ! Nancy will be attending PETS and suggested Jan go as well. The cost is $600 per person and this was approved. The future of OS Rotary is bright!

Nancy announced that May 8th is the Rotary Day of Service and the focus will be on mental health. Mental health awareness will be observed nationally for the month of May. All clubs in our district will participate. Nancy is working on a program involving RI President R. Gordon R. McInally possible doing a 20-40 minute presentation. Joan Winters headed the Day of Service last year in which volunteers worked cleaning local beaches of trash and debris.

Wine & Beer Tasting and Silent Auction - Marty, Pete
April 12 is the date. Marty gave an overview of the event. There is work to do in preparation of the event that involves everyone. Selling tickets, getting items for the auction and raffle and lining up sponsors are important to the success of the Wine Tasting. Everyone will receive a packet which contains tickets, flyers and all the forms necessary for soliciting and thanking our donors. The forms are also available on our website in the Membership Directory area. You should start now contacting your friends, businesses and acquaintances. More tickets are available and people can also purchase their tickets online. Our website contains a lot of information - try to drive traffic to the WT webpage - we also have a Facebook page.  Pete has brochures with countertop holders - a great piece to leave at local businesses. The Wine Tasting is a lot of fun and this year promises to be great again with Scot Haney and Nicole Nalepa are back as MC's! Lets all pull together for a great night!

John Aforismo, Shredding Day - April 20 - Jan will speak with the high school Ecology Club and ask if they want to take in electronics for recycling like last year. John has a new shredding company with a lower cost. This service project is greatly appreciated by area folks looking to safely dispose their sensitive documents.

Alan reports that $35K was transferred from the Foundation to the club account for scholarship checks and other expenses.

Our next meeting is here at noon, Jan 31, VFW Hall

Nancy talked about the Chamber of Commerce Chile Contest March 2. Do we want to participate and enter the contest? After some discussion it was decided that we would not however, we may pitch our tent and attend and answer questions from people interested in joining.
Who wants to go to the French Riviera? The Chamber is offering a trip on Oct. 23, 2024. The price is $3499 if deposited by March 31, 2024.

Nancy asked if anyone would be interested in heading up the Wine Tasting Auction committee. The focus is to look for bigger ticket items and think of items that might do well.

Joan Winters talked about Public Relations. Our website is a good start but should we do more press releases to let people know what we do? What type of activities can we do to attract younger members? Input is welcome!
