President’s Update: Birthdays: Gary, Joan W., John A. Progress was noted on the OSW Football Brochure for the Fall Season. 9 members have not paid this year’s dues. Please forward checks to Kathy. The Club has a good chance of replacing the income lost from the cancelled Wine Tasting Event (2021) due to COVID. This is being done thanks to the ARPA Grant administered through the town of Old Saybrook. Pat D. will be representing the Club at the CFMC 25th anniversary celebration. Joan W. will chair the newly formed Public Image Committee. The Club donated a bench for the Estuary’s Patio. It has recently been installed.
Summer Concert Series: Concert on the Green tonight. Volunteers should meet at the Green at 6:00pm.
Program: Devin Carney, State Representative
Devin distributed a handout from the Office of Legislative Research titled “2022 Major Public Acts”. He highlighted several areas of interest to residents in his district. Topics included: Budget - the process and the issues, transportation and highway use taxes, Education and the mental health issues brought on by COVID, and the Legislative Calendar. A lively Q & A session followed Devin’s presentation. Thank you, Devin, for your time and public service to our State.
