On this day, a project that began months ago came to fruition. The Commodities Exchange is a designated area and structure where people can drop off gently used, good condition items for pick up by people who can use the item. This helps the environment by keeping items, that might get disposed of, out of the waste stream. Pat Settembrino and Gary McCauley headed this project which was underwritten by Old Saybrook Rotary with donations from area businesses.
