Charlie started out by saying the weather was definitely a factor in the success of the tournament - you couldn't ask for a nicer day! We do not have a profit figure yet because we have not yet received the invoice from Fox Hopyard. There were 77 golfers and 54 sponsors - both totals exceeded expectations. Please thank the sponsors, Charlie has cards which were given out during dinner showing the sponsors. Thanks to Joe for selling so many mulligans and watching a hole in one hole all day. Bill McLaughlin's team won the tournament by the way with a score of 15 under par!
Maui Fund, Nancy Morin
A donation box was set up at the last 2 concerts on the green and donations were given by attendees. In all we collected $1,050 which we will match. Nancy informed us that the OS Chamber of Commerce is donating $1,000 to the fund! Nancy is forming a Maui committee so expect more donations to go to Rotary Clubs in the area who will disperse the funds to those in need. Please visit our Maui page for more information.
Macaroni Dinner: John Aforismo
The date is Sunday Oct. 15 from 12:30-4pm at Clarke Field (Fireman's Field). John Gianinni will be our chef preparing the meatballs and sause and oversee the cooking operations. John and John will be shopping Saturday and we will be setting up at the facility as well. Costs have gone up and we are absorbing the increase but John asks that when selling tickets, please find out if the tickets you sold represent actual meals that will be picked up. It may impact the amount of food we purchase for the event. Everyone is given 10 tickets to sell with more available if you need additional tickets. Marty will have tickets available at Northeast Medical as well.
