Happy Bucks: Marty and Bill M. are happy for the updated website, Bill O’s business taxes are finally completed, Tara and Jan are happy to be able to attend a club meeting, Joan is happy for the Arts and Crafts Show while Joan W. is happy for the Mac and Cheese Dinner, John A. is happy that Shireen is recovering from her fall and that he his honing his housekeeping skills, Pat and Patti are happy for the COVID booster shot and Gary is happy for all the events in October that the club is involved in.

President’s Update:  Assistant Governor, Rick Bassett, will be attending our meeting on 12/1. Joan Winters has agreed to join the Rotary Public Image Committee. Park and Rec. is sponsoring a Trunk or Treat Halloween event. The club will not be participating but encourages interested individuals to contact Park and Rec.

Chamber of Commerce: Art and Crafts Show October 2nd and 3rd. Pat and Patti updated the event. Volunteer list is complete, Health Department has been consulted, 300 ice cream sandwiches will be added to the menu and a free raffle will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

Golf Tournament: October 7th at the Fox Hopyard Golf Course. So far, 74 golfers have signed up. Contact Charlie R. if you are able to volunteer or have a raffle prize.

Macaroni Dinner: October 17th at Fireman’s Field. So far, 197 tickets have been sold. Ticket money and count should be given to John A. by October 10th. We have picked up four sponsors and a sign has been placed at the transfer station.

October meeting schedule: 10/6 at the Knollwood Beach Club House, 1 Clubhouse Lane, Old Saybrook (Turn on Knollwood Drive off Maple Ave. It’s down one block) at noon, 10/13 TBD, 10/20 Student of the Month at Saybrook Point Inn at 7:00 am. 10/27 TBD

Sal’s is unavailable during October. Any ideas for a new lunch meeting spot should be given to Gary.

Committee Reports:
Foundation – Meeting next Monday. Report to be given at the next meeting.
Outreach
– The club will donate a bench ($2,000) to the new Wellness Park at the Estuary. Thanksgiving Meal Program is underway in partnership with the Westbrook Foundation. Website – up and running well. A Donate Button will be added in the near future.
Membership – Liz Meyer will be completing requirements for membership (Congratulations).
Speakers – 1 open date in November. See Bill M. with suggestions.
