Program:
Peter Manley introduced our speaker Abby Marks Beale who runs a company called REV IT UP READING, Div.of The Corporate Education LLC. Abby is the author of 10 Days to Faster Reading a program that takes over where Evelyn Woods leaves off. Abby ran a series of drills to measure our rate of reading and then gave us some exercises to increase our rates. She described her 4-step program to getting the many things we get on a daily basis read.
    1. Inventory the things you want to read
    2. Place a personal value on every piece
    3. Get rid of the things that are low in personal value
    4. Using spead reading techniques. For ex. discipline your eyes to move from left to right and stay focused on what you are reading. When you read faster, you tend to concentrate better.
There are 3 kinds of readers, "talkers", average and thinkers who read groups of words at a time.
