RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards): Carroll Bowser
Carroll started by talking about Rotary for the benefit of our guests who may not know what our club does and what we stand for as well as how the organization got started and how our organization got its name. Our club encompasses the 3 towns of Old Saybrook, Westbrook and Old Lyme.
Feb. 25 is the date of of RYLA and the location is Stratford, CT. For more information, please visit the RYLA section of this website or go to our district website. The outstanding students in attendance today, who will represent our club, were chosen for their academic ability and leadership qualities. The students will meet peers of similar abilities and interests from around the state to discuss issues of the day. These students will be invited back to talk about the experience. This is a Rotary-exclusive program that our club has participated in for many years. Students come back enthusiastic and richer for the experience.
