Bill Bernhart introduced our speaker Sheila Brown. Sheila grew up in a poor neighborhood in Hartford and thanks to the efforts of a local Rotarian, was able to continue her education at Boston University through scholarships from various service clubs. Today, Sheila returns the kindness shown to her by paying attention to students with needs and helping them with their needs. For four years, the Goodwin Buddies, a group comprised of teachers, have contributed to a fund to purchase clothing, shoes, backpacks and other necessities for children who could not afford those things that most take for granted. Sheila wants to make a difference iin childrens lives just as some adults did when she was growing up. Some families do not avail themselves of services such as the Soup Kitchen because of language and/or cultural barriers and thats where the Goodwin Buddies come in. Andy mentioned that he and some other club members mentor children.

Brent mentioned that the Golf Tournament literature is being printed and will be ready next week.
President Bill gave a couple of dates to remember: Saturday, March 18 - Rotary Leadership Conf at Conn. College and the District Assembly is Thursday, April 6.
