Students of the Month - Technology
Gerri Lewis announced the students who were chosen as students of the month in Old Saybrook, Westbrook and Lyme-Old Lyme High Schools. They are:
    Old Saybrook High School: Michael Neas
Michael will be attending Mass. Maritime Academy. Michael is a very hard working student who is always willing to help fellow students
    Westbrook High School: Harlan Toussaint
Harlan is building a Windsor rocker from scratch and has also helped build an electric car. Harlan plans on attending Syracuse Univ. to study engineering.
    Lyme-Old Lyme High School: Jackson Bennett

Announcements:
Matt Vogt - reported on the Chile contest. The winner was Angus McDonald's firm with an entry from his daughter-in-law Andrea.
The program for next weeks meeting will be the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) students reporting on the recent conference. This is a very popular Rotary program that our club has sponsored for many years.
Gerri: Our meeting on March 30 will be an evening meeting at Luigis Restaurant. The cost will be $20, signup sheet will be circulated.
Joan C: There will be a meeting of non-profit organizations and church groups at the Old Saybrook Town Hall on March 22 at 7pm. The purpose is to organize the various groups in a community collaborative effort. Gerri and Joan will represent our club. One cause is to assist a family with medical bills for a child with an incurable illness.
Bill O'Shaugnessy: We are moving forward with a matching grant from the district for the Shoreline Soup Kitchens ($1500) and Mike Velgouse is also working on a matching grant for Westbrook Social Services ($2500). Old Lyme Social Services grant was approved and we will be presenting a check on March 23. John Donnelly is working on a matching grant for a library in Ghana.
Joan C: We still need someone to step up and take on the office of President Elect.
