holding parking spots at the Point, getting the cars launched from the Middle School
and parked at Saybrook Point after the parade.  We have over 120 cars participating
dating back to a 1911 model!
Today's Program:  Bill McLaughlin introduced Doug Decerbo, Executive Director of the
Mount St. John School in Deep River.  Mount St. John is the "Other Castle" across the
river from Gillette's Castle.  Mount St. John's is a boarding school with an average
student body of 28 with a few day students occasionally.  The school is for troubled
boys  who've had a brush with the law or have been expelled from their normal school.
The school has a staff of 70 and operates 24/7.  CT Child and Family Services sends
them students as well as  court mandated students.  As well as keeping up with
academics through classroom work, they also concentrate on social and life skills.
They have programs for the students to teach basic carpentry and building trades skills
and also culinary arts.  "Project Craft" is a program where the students can intern with CT
building contractors.  Some have worked in fast food restaurants and also with
landscaping firms. The school is very proactive in re-introducing their students back
into the mainstream of life.  They involve the social services organizations and the
families as much as possible.  They seem to have a pretty good track record for being
effective.  Doug gave a very dynamic and stirring talk and answered many questions
    at the end.

THE FOUR-WAY TEST
of the things we think, say or do
First...
    Is it the TRUTH ?
Second....
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Third....
Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Fourth....
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
