The students will receive a monetary award and a donation in their names will be made to Polio Plus, a well known and effective RI program the purpose of which is the erradication of Polio from the planet.

L-R: Hunter Krebs (Westbrook), Avery Wyman (Lyme-Old Lyme), McKenna Roberts (Old Saybrook)

McKenna Roberts is described as mature, thoughtful, athletic and a talent both off and on the stage. She is the student representative for the Board of Education, COVID-19 advisory committee, and more. She excels at singing and acting

Hunter Krebs is a talented artist and honor roll student. His creations "bring things to life". He carries himself well and is always creating. Hunter is inspired by his artist Dad and his advice to people who want to create art is practice, practice, practice!

Avery Wyman is a great person who embodies many core values. He is compassionate, self driven, takes initiative and is an awesome talent. He plays drums in the music pit for performances and is in a jazz group which performs in New York. Avery wants to study Jazz in college.

Pat Devito items:
Gary is thinking about us in Europe, we all wish him and Pam a great well deserved trip!
April 23: District Conference in Mystic at the Mystic Marriott. Pat and Patty will be going and will be accepting an award, the Charles W. Pettengill Award for excellence in all avenues of service and public image and support of the Rotary Foundation. We were selected from a short list of 5 clubs in the 'large club' category. Anyone wishing to attend may do so, please contact Pat. The award has been given annually since 2001 and this is our first time receiving it.
May 18: Paul Harris dinner at Old Lyme Country Club. Marty will be honored with a Saphire PH. Please give your menu selections to Gary or Bill.

John G has agreed to continue on as Club Secretary but would like to eventually turn the reins over so if you are interested in serving as secretary, please let John know.

Shredding Event: John Aforismo
Though the weather didn't totally cooperate (rain at the very end), it was a great day of community service and fellowship. ADG Tari Marshall-Dey was there and she loved our presence of tents and apparel. In all, we took in $4545 including $195 in donations. The shred truck cost $1100 leaving a profit of $3,415 - well done!

Wine & Beer Tasting and Silent Auction: Marty
We have resolved the issue concerning licensing for the event. We will operate the wine tasting under the Saybrook Resort permit. For this to happen, the wines and beer will have to provided by Saybrook Resort and served by their employees. This will mean a higher cost so its important we get as many sponsors and sell tickets to cover the added cost. We currently have $12,200 in sponsorships but we have more potential. Its the home stretch so lets push for a successful event!
