PROGRAM: AMSTON “Home Transition Solutions”, presented by Shelia Gavish

Amston works with seniors, assisting them in making a move. Here are several tips to help with moving.

Tip 1)      Start early and plan, downsize now.

Tip 2)     Declutter before packing. An estimate is that the average home has 300,000 items, and 40% have a storage unit, rule of thumb, do you love it, need it, or want it.

Tip 3)     Hire professional help.

Tip 4)     Organize paperwork and consolidate documents.

Tip 5)     Pack efficiently and label well.

Tip 6)     Plan for moving day, schedule movers early.

Tip 7)     Stay positive.

Tip 8)     Stay connected and get involved in the new setting.

Tip 9)     Take pictures of valued items and write a story.
