Happy Bucks: Most were for the great weather, meeting in person, and it was too noisy to hear the rest.
Gary’s Update: Only Brent Taylor has a birthday in June (it’s a BIG one). Stop by the Town Hall to see the new art exhibit. Thanks to Marty's brother-in-law Mike Goldblatt from Norwich for the vintage car ('56 Cadillac) used in the Memorial Day Parade. Dues are to be paid by 6/30/21. Scholarships were awarded to 9 students from Old Saybrook, Lyme/Old Lyme, and Westbrook.
An official welcome was bestowed on the recent class of new members. Nancy Morin, Mike Osnato, and Joan Winters, welcome to Rotary Old Saybrook.

John G. provided an update for the Summer Concert Series. Everything is a go for the first concert to be held on the Town Green on 6/16 at 6:30pm. We will also have the tent set up at 5 future concerts: 7/7, 7/14, 7/28, 7/30, and 8/25. If you would like to man (person) the tent, email Jan P. and she will send a sign-up sheet.
Golf Tournament: 8/19 at Fox Hopyard. Publicity and Sponsor subcommittees are being organized. Registration forms are ready to print. We are investigating using Eventgroove and our website to advertise and register golfers.
Craft Fair: to be held 10/2 and 10/3. If interested in being a co-chair with Mike Osnato, contact Gary as soon as possible.
Meeting Schedule:
- 6/16 – Town Green at noon. Bring your lunch.
- 6/23 – Parthenon Diner at 7:30am
- 6/29 – Social Event for members and spouses. Indiantown Clubhouse. $5.00, 5 -7pm
- 6/30 – No meeting
Future Meetings: Proposed general monthly schedule – First meeting of the month will a breakfast meeting for student of the month. Two meetings will be held in the zoom format so that a variety of speakers will be available. Meetings will alternate between breakfast and lunch.
Brent asked for volunteers for Meals on Wheels and also gave a brief History of the Rotary Old Saybrook.
Alan and Mike are looking for volunteers for their “Saybrook Proud” campaign.
