PROGRAM Rotary Flags by Bill McLaughlin

The purpose of today's talk was to re-acquaint the older member’s and to acquaint the new members with the worldwide aspect Rotary International.
Many Rotarians travel a great deal. Every Rotarian is encouraged to attend a Rotary Club meeting wherever they may be visiting. The exchange of Club flags between the visiting Rotarian and the host Club is an integral part of the Fellowship of Rotary.
The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook has a long history exchanging Club flags. Our collection of flags numbers close 300. These flags represent Rotary Club visits in 36 foreign countries, and multiple cities in 37 States. Our Club has a worldwide presence.
Each flag exchange has an interesting story to tell. As I talked about the Rotary meetings, I attended many fond memories were relived.
When your plans include a trip remember to take an Old Saybrook Rotary flag with you. The Sergeant at Arms has a supply of flags. Enjoy
