PROGRAM

Our speaker was MaryLou Gannotti, Eastern Connecticut Development Manager Alzheimer’s Association. MaryLou defined Alzheimer’s as a disease of the brain with no known cure, while dementia can be treated. Study and research have shown that dementia can be treated by staying active, with proper exercise of body and brain. The Association has a help line, 800 -272- 3900. The Help Line is available around the clock. The Association is actively lobbing the government for funds to expand research for better treatment of dementia.

Rotary International is involved with this effort as, ADRAP, Alzheimer’s Dementia Rotary Action Group. Eastern Connecticut Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held Saturday September 24, 2022, at Ocean Beach Park New London.
