Happy Bucks: Ralph Stevens was awarded the Paul Harris Red Stone Pin for his continued service to the Rotary Club. Most Happy Bucks were for our two guests, several were for the last concert on the green, the great weather, the upcoming Golf Outing, and Devin announced that since the last meeting that he attended he got married. Congratulations, Devin!
Program: Jill Peterson, Executive Director for The Greater Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce
Recently, Jill Peterson, became the Executive Director of the Chamber. She is “still learning my way” and have “big shoes to fill.” She recognized the former director, Judy Sullivan’s, many years of dedicated service and requested that the Rotary Club help her become an effective Executive Director. She complimented our Club on the amount and the quality of the community service and outreach that we accomplish every year. Jill then reviewed the upcoming calendar of Chamber sponsored events highlighting the Arts and Crafts Fair, in October, and the Starlight Festival on 12/5. Good Luck in your new role!!
Committee Updates:
Golf Outing on 9/14 – the big push is on. We need 24 more golfers and 20 more sponsors.
Arts and Crafts on 10/3 and10/4 – Looking for volunteers to staff our food tent. See Gary or John A. Grocery Raffle – Drawing on 10/4. We have sold $7,000 in tickets, $12,000 to go.
Macaroni Dinner on 11/24, 11/25 – Ticket prices will remain the same. $15 and $10.
Alzheimer’s Walk 0n 9/26 – Still time to join the team. We have raised $825 so far. See Martha for more information on donating and joining the Team.
Concert on the Green Tonight– Last one of the season. Set up at 6:00 pm
