PROGRAM
Rotarian Amber Scherber updated the Club on our very active Interact Club at Old Saybrook High School.The OSHS Interact Club was formed in 1997. Amber took over directing the Interact Club in 2007. The Club has flourished under Amber. If the members have a passion for an idea, they are encouraged to think about what they wish to accomplish, and then act upon the program. Events are numerous, Soup Kitchen, prepare and serve a breakfast, Teach America, books, Locks for Luke, raise fund for cancer research, Half-Way Boxes, Frosty Five, 5K Run and Walk, and more. Old Saybrook High School Interact is very active in District 7980 RYLA events, a week-end learning event held at Camp Hazen to develop leadership skills. On a larger scale Interact has taken advantage of “World Affairs” held at Carroll University, Waukesha, WI. This brings together students from all over the world. A topic is pre-planned such as Clean Water, Women in Business, etc. The students get acquainted with others from around the world to work on the project. A life changing experience.
The Rotary Club of Old Saybrook has an outstanding Interact Club under Amber's leadership.
