  Foundation Meeting: tax filings (update to follow)
  Westbrook Foundation: Thanksgiving Program (grant requested by Oct.1st )
  District news: President’s health update (healing progresses)
  Haitian Relief Effort (donation under consideration)
  Website update: It’s almost done. Final testing then training (Marty)
  Dick Mason, member from Clinton, thanked OSRC for generous donation (Clinton Cornhole Tournament, teams still needed, have 11, can accommodate 40,beautiful setting at Westbrook Elks Club)
  Old Lyme VFW Post Annual Dinner (Oct.23rd ) is their largest event of the year,100-150 attendees, live music, “mystery gift boxes” @ $25 ea  (an excellent idea)
  Received Thank You note from OS Chamber of Commerce, and decals for distribution

Guest Speaker: 


Joe Arcari introduced his daughter,  Army Corps of Engineers  Lt. Col. Anela Arcari US Army (ret.) who is visiting from Hawaii. She is a 1987 grad from Mercy, and 1991 grad from Norwich University, Military College of Vermont with a BS in Civil Engineering and has a Masters of Ed with a major in counseling. She is a retired LTC US Army Corps of Engineers with 28 years of active duty. She has commanded troops at Platoon, Company , Detachment and Battalion levels. Anela was deployed on Humanitarian and Engineer assignments to Haiti, Bosnia, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Her terminal assignment was with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. Anela was an OS schoolmate (and remains a close friend) of previous guest speaker
Gen. Christine Beeler (US Army). Anela took questions following her remarks.

Charlie is contacting teams re: new date (not too late to sign up). Please let him know if you’re still able to volunteer. Prizes are still needed
