Final Report: Charlie R: Golf Outing had a net profit of $12,072.64!
Peace Pole Installation: Rosanne reported that the installation ceremony was held on 9/21 at Gardiner’s Landing Park at Saybrook Point. Rotarians, Town officials, and community members attended and participated in the moving dedication ceremony. Rosanne also reported that she learned, while talking to attendees, how well regarded the Rotary Club is in our communities. Joan W added that our social media campaign has received well over 100 hits. Job well done, Rotarians!!
Social Committee: Lucille Pelletier reported that the 10/29 Social Meeting will take place at Sammy’s Restaurant in Westbrook at 5:30 to 7:30 pm. There will be a special menu and special drink just for us. Heads up: cash only, no credit cards.
Grants Committee: David C informed us that the committee will be meeting with Stan Mingione, from The Estuary, to discuss grant opportunities to address the food insecurity problem in our communities.
Update: Arts and Crafts: The weather forecast is for a great weekend! Pete still needs volunteers to fill positions on Saturday and Sunday. Please sign up with Pete ASAP!
E Bike Raffle: Drawing will be held on Sunday, 10/5, at the Arts and Crafts event. Turn in money to Kathy and tickets to John or Gary.
Alzheimer’s Walk: To be held on 9/27 at Ocean Beach Park in New London. $1255 has been pledged so far.
Shredding: to be held on 9/27 at OSHS from 9:00 am to Noon. Workers should report for duty at 8:30 am.
Macaroni Dinner: 10/18 Prep Day at Fireman’s Field. Dinner on 10/19. Keep John informed as to the number of tickets you have sold. He has more tickets if needed.
Thanksgiving Meals: Once again, we will be working with Westbrook Social Services to package and distribute meals on 11/26 starting at 7:00 am. See Gary for details.
