Happy Bucks: Many were for the successful golf tournament, and no frostbite at the golf tournament, Mike and Bill M for escaping property damage during Hurricane Ian, Dick Mason is happy to be at a OS Rotary meeting, Ralph Stevens a sad dollar for his severely damaged home in Florida.

Pat’s Updates:

  • Ceremonial Awards – “Making the Best Out of a Bad Situation”, Patti and Gail; “Getting to Zero”, John A.; “Taking Over”, Charlie R; “Creativity”, Gary and Pam; Did It All Together”, OS Rotary.
  • DMG grant for the Acton Library computer upgrade has been submitted.
  • ARPA grant has committee approval. The Board of Selectmen will act soon.
  • Florida Relief – waiting for District guidance. 

Recent Projects:

  • Arts and Crafts Festival – cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
  • Brent Taylor Memorial Golf Tournament – 66 golfers and 49 sponsors participated in the highly successful event. Sandi Taylor and Stephanie Taylor Hamilton spoke at the dinner and presented awards to the Club. Financial success will be announced within two weeks.
  • Macaroni Dinner – 200 tickets have been sold. Head count is needed by Oct. 12th. Get unsold tickets and money to John A. ASAP. Check work schedule to be sure of your time slot.
  • Dictionary Project – Distribution to the schools will take place over the next two weeks. Sign up with Nancy Morin if you would like to help with this worthwhile project.

Clinton Rotary Club: President Dick Mason reported on the club’s Third Annual Corn Hole Tournament and invited members to attend a Clinton Rotary Club Meeting. He also distributed information about the Lyme-Old Lyme VFW’s annual dinner/dance to be held on October 22nd at 6:00pm Christ the King Parish Hall. Reservations: Richard Mason 742-554-9439.

Committee Reports:

  • Membership – two possible new members.
  • Speakers – Speaker needed for 10/19
  • Christina is researching possible International Projects for our consideration.
