Happy Bucks: Many for the students, Amber, and the Interact Club. Gail for our donation to the Garden Club of Old Saybrook. Charlie N for his new great granddaughter and whatever. Alan for his first grandson. Mike for good weather for Saturday’s Torchlight Parade. Pat for the support of the Club members for all of our activities throughout the year.

Pat’s Updates: The ARPA Grant has been signed, sealed, and we’re waiting for delivery. We will be making a $1,000 donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. Torchlight Parade: see Marty for work assignments. Received a Thank You note from Jan P for the roses Pat delivered to her office. The flowers were in recognition for Jan being selected as Connecticut’s Superintendent of the Year. Congratulations Jan. A well-deserved honor.

Heather McNeil, from Youth and Family Services, thanked us for the donation for Thanksgiving Turkeys. We did not win the St. John’s car raffle.

Program: The RYLA Experience: Amber, the advisor for Old Saybrook High School’s Interact Club, introduced Lauren Lee and Nick Novorio. They were participants in the recent RYLA Program held at Camp Hazen in Chester. RYLA is an intensive leadership experience that develops leadership skills while having fun and making connections. Lauren and Nick described the events and activities that took place over the three day program which was attended by over 80 students from across the State. The activities that made the biggest impact on them were: a “Culture Walk”, Community Building, Trust Issues, and a student produced presentation. Lauren and Nick emphasized the value of the experience and thanked the Club for sponsoring them. Job well done!

Planning for the Wine Tasting/Silent Auction Event: It will be held on 3/3/23 at Saybrook Point Resort and Marina. Be thinking of possible sponsors and prizes. See Marty with your ideas.
