New Member Glen Anderson:  John Donnelly did the honors bringing Glen into Rotary
and the O.S. Rotary community.  John outined the goals and purpose of Rotary and
pinned our newest member.  Glen did a mini bio on himself.  He was born in Ohio in
his father's Model A on their way to the hospital.  The family later moved to Wisconsin
where they owned a dairy farm which grew to 80 head.  They later bought an adjacent
farm where they raised hogs and had grew some cash crops.  He worked for a while
in a cheese factory (that or a brewery) then joined the Air Force and served in Vietnam.
After the service he attended the University of Wisconsin.  After graduation he worked
at several misc. jobs in small businesses, marketing, real estate and title search.  He
always wanted to come east so he packed up his van, belongings and against Horace
`   Greeley's pronouncement, headed east.  He had no job or place to stay but did have
some friends who put him up and in a few days landed a job.  He now owns and runs
the Pak-It of Southeastern CT store on the Post Road (he bought out Yankee Packet
which was in the shopping center.
Bio of one of our new members, Kirby Klotter:
Kirby lives here in O.S. with his wife who is an epidemiologist.  His son is an
attorney in N.Y. with three state certification.   Kirby was born in Hartford and loved
the outdoors.  He was nicknamed Ranger Andy by his folks.  Early memories were of
air raid drills when the children were instructed to crawl under their desks.  His
recollections were that the boys would go to the windows and the girls would grab hold
of the teachers skirt.  He was diagnosed with possible dyslexia and sent to a boarding
school where he did pretty well.  He went to the University of Vermont majoring in geology
and chemistry.  Upon leaving college he joined the Peace Corp and was sent for training
in California and then sent to Lesotho, a small country on the tip of Africa surronded by
South Africa.  As in many 3rd world counties hygiene is poor, water is of poor quality and
Aids is prevalent.  They have a two party sysytem, communist and democratic.  Lesotho
has the most lightning strikes of all African countries.  Kirby taught school in that country.
After the Peace Corp he got his Masters at UCONN in entomology and got a doctorate
at Tulane.  He taught in Louisiana and Florida and her at UNH and Albertus Magnus.
He's lived in many places both here in the U.S. and abroad.
