Peter read three letters; one from Mike Pace thanking Rotary for it’s work with Warm the Children, one to Ron Scott thanking us for the opportunity to attend RYLA from Stephen Burky (?) and one from Peter V. Wilczynski of Old Lyme thanking us for honoring him as Student of the Month for Mathematics and English.
7. Treasurers Report from John Donnelly. –
He noted that the Wine Tasting/Auction income was over $7,900.00 and also that the Community Outreach budget has been expended. John also pointed out that several members have not yet paid for the Holiday party. John again noted that we do not have a home for the exchange student. Brent suggested that we rethink taking part in the program in the future. 8. Jason & Walt gave a brief update on Warm the Children Project. More than 250 children were helped. A more detailed report next week.
9. Program today; Bill Suits gave us an update on the Community Outreach program, and how it is now really rolling. In fact, the total annual budget has been spent. He thanked Bill Bernhart and Lee David for their involvement with the program. 10. Next week: Eileen Baker and Mr. Flores who son got a hearing aid paid for through the Foundation. 11. Sarah Henderson from Old Lyme, but now a Rotarian in Jamaica talked briefly. She is a Peace Corps worker there. She works or the government, but goes into the “country” to help people in many different ways.
