District Governor Alan Hurst along with Asst. Gov. Lynn Faulstick, presented a meritorious Citation to President Bill as well as a recognition award for new membership. We are 3rd in the district for our size club.

Mike Spera spoke first, thanking the club for the support. The Rotary Old Saybrook is proud to be the first to support DARE from day 1. The officers run the program for children in kindergarten to 8th grade in Old Saybrook, Westbrook and Lyme-Old Lyme. and also work through Youth Services in town. DARE is completely funded through private donations. The program has proven to be very effective in teaching our children about making good decisions in life.
Brent Taylor took the floor and went over some things regarding the golf tournament. The Red team is in the lead in bringing in golfers and sponsors. Sandy spoke as well. Next week, we will put the ditty bags together and then the big day - MAY 25. We have lots of committments that seem to grow each year so its important we all do our part to make the tournament successful.
A vote of the Board of Directors approved the expenditure of $200 for transportation costs for Middle School students competing in Destination Imagination. They are finalists in this competition.
